HIKING

Hikers are welcome at Lacanau.
Whether walking on the GR 8 footpath or on the marked out local loops, they will cross wonderful sites.

The visit of Cousseau pond, protected and listed nature reserve, should not be missed. It is opened all yearlong and can be visited with complete freedom. Spreading over 610 ha, it is a reflection of nature environment and a sanctuary for local animal life (otter, eurasian hobby, short-toe snake-eagle, etc...).

During July and August, free guided strolls are proposed by the
“Conseil Général de la Gironde” (prior inscription at Tourist Office).
Off season, on ad hoc basis, guided tours of various departmental natural sites organised by “La SEPANSO”.

Orienteering racing course
In the heart of the “Canaulaise” forest, a sporting orienteering racing course is also available.
Going solo, in team or family, the opportunity to discover a discipline in a natural world.
